Vehicle dealers face two ongoing theft problems: • Theft from the showroom forecourt • Theft of demonstration vehicles whilst on test-drives. Dealers would like to fit a tracking system into each of the demonstrator vehicles and to the front row of the forecourt, but due to the high turnover of stock just cannot afford the installation and removal of conventional trackers. Theft rates on these vehicles are much higher than the national average for all vehicles of 4-5%, so expected losses would be in excess of £500 per month.
